New Member Visit

You have probably heard about our club or Toastmasters, either though Google, a friend/work mate or maybe an invite send to you in the mail. The best way to find out about our club, however, is to personally visit us.

We welcome all visitors to personally come along, meet our members and see what we are all about. All visits for our guests are free of charge and include a commentary tea or coffee and biscuits. We meet each Monday (excluding public holidays) with a prompt start 7:15pm so please be approximately 15 minutes early.  This helps ensure we have time to greet you and introduce you to Oaklands Toastmasters. Each meeting typically takes 90-110 minutes and includes a 10-15 minute supper break.

We understand some people may be a little nervous about coming along and trying something new.  You may feel that because you have not had much experience in public speaking. You may think this is "too hard for me". Please do not let this deter you, our friendly members will help you though the process by explaining our meeting roles, and providing friendly encouragement to help you gain confidence in speaking before a small audience.  Remember, we all started out as nervous new members just like you.

We allow our guests to visit up to 3 times free of charge before they are requested to join. During these visits we will also give you the opportunity to practice giving small 1-2 minutes impromptu speeches known as "table topics" about a topic which will be explained to you on the night. If after attending a few meetings, you are interested in joining the VP Membership will guide you though the joining process, please see join for further information.

Whilst you are free to turn up without notice, we like it if you contact us first so we can greet you personally. Please see contact us for further information.
